AuctionAd$ and favorite.me Update
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I have been running my AuctionAd$ add-on on my blog for about 4 days now. For those who have not read the previous posts, not only does it dynamically change the keywords used within the advert, it also adjusts to display adverts for the more popular keywords more frequently.
| Keyword | Weight |
|---|---|
| wii | 14205 |
| n95 | 17425 |
| d80 | 1000 |
| sp550 | 5710 |
| 802.11n | 1285 |
| umpc | 12315 |
| digital frame | 1875 |
| irobot | 10370 |
So, for example, if you supplied it with three keywords ‘gadget’,’shoes’ and ‘garden’ it would automatically adjust to show more of a particular keyword depending on what your users click on. In theory if you are running a technology related website/blog it is most likely to adjust to showing ‘gadget’ related adverts.
The table on the right shows the keywords that I am currently trying out and the current weighting values that apply to each keyword. A higher value means the keyword is more popular and the associated advert will be shown in a higher ratio than that to lower valued keywords. It seems my readers are currently most interested in the Nokia N95 (I don’t blame them, I have one and it’s fantastic).
Favorite.me
I have been waiting to see the outcome of the Technorati changes to see if my favorite.me project is worth continuing. It has so far generated 1581 confirmed favorites given out to just under 100 members. So far it appears that the changes still mean it is worth getting into the top 100 most favorited. So if you are a Technorati member please give it a go.
